In addition to holding its own events, GILE actively participates in 2 major JALT events each year: the PanSIG conference, held in the spring, and international conference, held in autumn.
JALT PanSIG
PanSIG is an annual conference usually held in May (though 2022 will be held in July; details below), and organized by many of the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT). The conference brings together leading scholars and practitioners in language education from Japan, Asia, and throughout the world. It is meant to be a smaller, more intimate conference than the annual international JALT conference (which is held each fall), and is a place where SIG members can network with each other.
PanSIG大会とは、全国語学教育学会(JALT)の分野別研究部会(SIG)により企画・支援されている年次大会で、日本、アジア、そして世界の語学教育分野の第一線で活躍する研究者や教育者の集いです。今年度は、過去最高の発表者となり、お互いが会員と交流し人脈を広げることができる場となっています。
JALT International Conference
JALT International is an annual conference usually held in November. This conference is the largest event held by JALT. The location changes each year to reach membership in all corners of the country and to support local economies across Japan.
